Alone on the shelf,

I’m cool,

I’m waiting.

It’s time.

My fever mounts,

I cough.

I splutter.

I press,

Trousers and blouses.

Skirts and shirts.

Smocks and socks.

Then I’m cool.

Alone on the shelf,
